Replacement Copper Core - This should only need to be replaced after 2 to 3 years of operation.

The second and third pictures shows a copper core after 3 years of continuous usage, it probably has another 12 months before it should be replaced

The green powder/flakes are a natural byproduct of the ionisation process. If you take the solapure out of the water once every 2 or 3 months, and let it dry out completely (be sure not to expose the solar panel to the sun while the unit is not in the water), the green just flakes off. You can also use the wire brush that is supplied with the starter kit to clean the core.

*** NOTE *** : If you have one of the earlier Solapures with the black cap at the bottom of the core, you will need to remove the rubber plug in the middle of the black cap and unscrew the black cap from the old core. You need to screw this cap back onto the new core (use silicone of Vaseline to cover the screw when it is tight. If you have one of the newer Solapures with the basket then just replace the core and screw the basket over it.

Replacement baskets and plastic wing nuts are available on request.
